CSV Workbench collects anonymous usage statistics to improve the application and ensure reliable service delivery:

• Anonymous session identifier: A random, non-persistent ID generated on each app load (no fingerprinting or device tracking)
• Feature usage: Which features you use (e.g., "CSV validation", "schema generation")
• Timestamps: When you use features (in UTC)
• Reference counts: Total number of CSV file references and CSV Schema references (numbers only; no names or paths)
• Application diagnostics: Sanitized error metadata that excludes any user-identifying data

What We DON'T Collect

• ❌ Your name, email, or any contact information
• ❌ Your IP address (not stored in analytics database)
• ❌ Your actual file names or file paths
• ❌ Your file content or data
• ❌ Any personally identifiable information
• ❌ Cookies or persistent tracking identifiers

Your Data

• Your CSV Data: Processed entirely on your local device - never uploaded to our servers
• File Metadata: Stored only in your browser's IndexedDB (file references, names, descriptions) - never transmitted
• Server-Side Validation Services (AWS/Azure): Data processed within your own cloud infrastructure (VPC/VNet) under your control

2. How We Use Your Information

Anonymous Usage Statistics

We use anonymous usage statistics to:

• Understand which features are most popular
• Identify and fix bugs
• Improve application performance
• Prioritize new features
• Plan capacity and maintain service reliability

Privacy Guarantees: Session-scoped identifiers cannot be linked to individuals or across sessions.

Legal Basis: Legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) with minimal privacy impact.

Your CSV Data

CSV Workbench Web Application: Your CSV data is processed entirely in your browser. We never see, store, or have access to your CSV files or their content.

Server-Side Validation Services (AWS/Azure): When you deploy validation engines in your own cloud infrastructure:

• Data is processed within your VPC/VNet under your control
• Billing is handled through AWS Marketplace or Azure Marketplace
• We do not have access to your data or validation results

3. Data Processing and Storage

CSV Workbench follows a privacy-first approach:

Your CSV Data

• CSV Workbench Web Application: All processing happens in your browser. No data is uploaded, stored, or transmitted to our servers.
• Browser Storage: Only file metadata (references, names, descriptions) is stored in your browser's IndexedDB - never the actual file content
• Complete Privacy: We never see, store, or have access to your CSV data files
• Server-Side Validation Services: AWS and Azure validation engines deploy in your own cloud infrastructure (VPC/VNet), keeping data under your control

• Storage Location: AWS DynamoDB in our infrastructure
• Session Identifiers: Random, non-persistent IDs that reset on each app load
• No Cross-Session Tracking: Identifiers cannot be linked across sessions or to individuals
• No Personal Data: No PII, filenames, file content, or IP addresses stored

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share your data with third parties.

Your CSV Data: CSV Workbench operates entirely in your browser. Your CSV files and data never leave your computer. There is no CSV data to share, sell, or disclose.

Anonymous Usage Statistics: The anonymous usage statistics we collect are used solely for improving the application. We never share this data with third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.

Server-Side Validation Services: For server-side validation services deployed in your infrastructure, you maintain complete control over your data.

5. Your Data Control

You have complete control over your data:

• File Access: You grant/revoke file access through browser prompts
• Browser Storage: Clear your browser data at any time to remove all stored metadata
• Database Reset: Use the built-in database reset feature to clear all file references
• No Account: No sign-up or login required - nothing to delete
• Offline Operation: Works completely offline - no internet connection required

6. GDPR Compliance

CSV Workbench is designed with GDPR compliance in mind:

Your CSV Data

CSV Workbench does NOT require GDPR compliance measures for your CSV data because it does not collect, process, or transmit any personal data. The application provider never sees your CSV files or their content. The application functions like a calculator or text editor - purely local processing.

For anonymous usage statistics, we rely on legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) as our legal basis:

• Minimal Privacy Impact: Session-scoped identifiers that cannot be linked to individuals
